TigerTalks in the City

Princeton Entrepreneurship Council is hosting a series of TigerTalks in the City events, the first of which will be in New York City on Thursday, October 6th.

Princeton Entrepreneurship Council introduces TigerTalks in the City, a quarterly panel discussion and networking event to connect alumni, faculty, and students. With the wave of entrepreneurship on campus and beyond, TigerTalks in the City will bring faculty to New York City to share key findings and insights from their research.

We invite you to join us at the inaugural TigerTalks in the City event on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the offices of AppNexus, 28 W. 23rd Street. The topic is “Big Data and Little Privacy?” and explores the challenges of enabling big data apps while protecting the privacy of user-sensitive information. Four faculty members from Computer Science, Sociology, Woodrow Wilson School and Engineering will discuss their research.

The panel discussion will begin at 6:30pm and will be followed by a networking reception with hors d’oeuvres and drinks. Seating is limited, so please register early at entrepreneurs.princeton.edu/tigertalks.

You may also want to mark your calendar for the second TigerTalks in the City on December 1 for an informative discussion of “Smart Cities”. Future panels in March and May of next year will explore “Uberization” and “Bioethics”.

We look forward to seeing you on October 6.

Princeton Entrepreneurship Council (PEC) was established in July 2015 by President Eisgruber and Provost Lee, as the advisory and coordination body on entrepreneurship programs at Princeton University. PEC works closely with existing campus organizations to enable Entrepreneurship the Princeton Way.

ALUMNI & CURRENT STUDENTS
Every year, PA3 welcomes the incoming freshmen and incoming graduate students from the local area with a dual event: an ice cream social for the freshmen and a beer&pizza social for the grad students.  We request alumni and current students to attend, as well, to answer questions and generally give a rousing welcome to these shiny, new tigers.   If you stick around for the dual event, you will get a backwards dinner (dessert first) and have great fun - we promise!  Please RSVP.

PARENTS OF INCOMING FRESHMEN
PA3 also warmly welcomes the parents. We want to celebrate with you on your child's success. As you drop your student off on 8/24 for the social event, please come to the parents' event next door. You will be meeting other PA3 parents and asking them about the exciting journey ahead at Princeton. There will be snack provided. It's a great chance of social while waiting for your child to finish his/her event. Hope to see you there!   Please RSVP.
- Ann Huang, PA3 Parents Committee Chair & Current Princeton Parent

GRADUATE STUDENTS
Please join us in welcoming the new crop of grad students before they are buried in course work, nose-deep in dissertations, and hidden in research labs.  Free beer and pizza.  Please RSVP.
